These Mods = X HP?
These Mods = X HP?
I've got a stock G.
If i get a Z-tube with K&N Drop, it would go from 280 to... ?
And if on top of the Z-Tube and K&N, what exhaust system would put me above 300? I'm thinking of just hitting the 300 mark and then quittin the performance mods.

Re: These Mods = X HP?
It basically comes down to what the mods produce as a whole. If a cold air intake guarantees 7hp and an exhaust guarantees 10hp, using the two together is not going to produce 17hp.
If you wanna hit the 300hp mark, a good idea would be the following:
Z-Tube and K&N air intake (or any CAI setup), exhaust/muffler and y-pipe, and a new ECU. Of course, that is simply my approach, I'm sure others have different methods.

Several different actual measurements have shown that a Crawford plenum and R/T or Crawford cats in combination with whatever intake you think looks best (ie. intake is irrelevant) will put you at or about 300 HP at the flywheel. This number was extrapolated from measurements at or around 245 at the rear wheels.
Other articles or forms of measurement I'm familiar with have shown catback exhausts to produce between negative to 5 or 6 HP at the rear wheels. What's also important is where your torque is gained or lost when considering an exhaust. PM DaveO for a good synopsis on these different exhaust results.
