All of the problems that we "early" coupe owners have should be resolved in the 05 model. Dont worry about problems every car has them. Besides you have warranty with the new car so there should be no worries.

stop listening to other people
here's what YOU SHOULD do: go buy it, if you don't like, sell it at half price;
see, this is the advice you will get if you ask for help like that; i doubt you can go to g35 forum and have people say don't buy this car, i love this car, i've decided that i will keep this car till i move from this to a ferrari, that's how much i love this car (i'ce also spent enough money on it that i can't sell it anymore!)

"All of the problems that we "early" coupe owners have should be resolved in the 05 model."
If this were the case, the '04 models wouldn't have issues like pulling to the right, rocking seats, rattles, etc. How long has Infiniti known about the rocking seats? To my knowledge, there still isn't a permanent fix. I know we can't put metal in a microwave but how hard is it to make seat tracks that will actually hold the seats still?
I remember every year it's the same thing. "The '03.5 should have those issues taken care of." "The '04's should have those things taken care." and now....
I'm not trying to flame. Just on past experience, the argument above doesn't hold water with me.

Exactly al.
My 2004.5 is a rattle trap (I've identified 3 rattles and 1 squeak), the windows streak, it pulls to the right, but not quickly enough to be covered by the TSB, and if you look at the interior hard enough you will scratch it.
But, I love this car for the mission I bought it for, which was to accelerate, brake, turn, and have luxurious features (navi, heated seats, leather, tire pressure monitor, et al) all for under $35K. I can live with it's warts for now, but that Ford Lightning I almost bought instead sure looks better everytime I need to go to Home Depot.
Good luck with your decision and remember to carefully define what your mission is. Once you do that, which car you want will become glaringly apparent.

I've had the car since Nov 2002. I have the common grease window, rocking seats, one rattle (which I fixed myself) and some squeak on the center console. The rocking seat was fixed under warranty now my car sit lower than before, which is a plus for me. I think most of the problem with this car is very minor compared to other vehicles. If you look at JD Power study over the last decade on initial quality, reliability & customer satisfaction, you'll find Infiniti has always been top 3. If you want a quality automobile backed by a reputable company, Infiniti is a very good candidate. Between me and my fiance's families there are 4 Infiniti cars/trucks, and we've never had any major problems or issues with customer service. We'll be getting the 5th Infiniti next month when the 05 sedan comes out.
Some people think it's silly to stick with the same car company, but when it comes to reliability, quality and customer service, I want the best in the industry. (Lexus is good, too... unfortunately they can't seem to make any exciting performance cars)

Don't forget that the most common type of "general" post you're going to see on forums like this is going to be questions regarding problems and whether anyone else has the same issues. That's just the nature of the beast (internet forums).
In other words, just because you see a number of posts here asking questions about the little quirks and nuances of the G's we own does not mean that every owner of every car purchased since 2003 is suffering the same issues.
Take it all with a grain of salt.

Listen, EVERY car built has one problem or another. There is NO perfect car. SOme have more problems than others. Fortunately the G35 is not the worst built car. It does have its flaws as every other car built does.
This G35 is my first NEW car and yes I loved it at first. Then I hated it. Now I love it again. If that makes any sense...
