All they have to do to unlock the steering lock is turn the cylinder. Not that hard for a professional thief (or even an amateur for that matter).

The club works nicely, unless they bring along bolt cutters and snip your steering wheel to slide the club off.

Re: I don’t want my G35c stolen!

Has anybody here who is praising Lo Jack actually had their car stolen or know anybody who had it stolen? I can speak from experience here and say Lo Jack is worthless. My neighbor's car got stolen and he was confident that Lo Jack would find it. Sure, they found it, a week later stripped. lol He was so upset because he worked on his car day and night. A yellow Acura Type-R. When he told me he had Lo-Jack I thought they were going to catch those bastards. I asked a few friends who knew about Lo Jack and they said it only works when the car is on and a lot of police stations don't have the system or if they do they don't leave it on. They said it's only good in California or places that have long open roads. I don't know if any of this is true. All I can say is he had lo jack and his car was stolen and stripped.

I wonder if lojack offers any type of guarantee or money back if you car isn't found within a certain period of time.

True, it is only good in areas where the police have the receivers. For other areas, there are GPS-based systems with monthly service/monitoring fees. Kind of like OnStar, but aftermarket instead of being a factory option.

And I have a coworker who's theory on the subject is: "If it gets stolen, I don't want it back!"

ryoken, with that said I'm not getting lojack. If my G is jacked I dont want it back. I had a car stolen back in college and it never felt the same after that (felt like it had been violated or something). But I will be picking up the viper 790. Any thoughts on this alarm?

Last time I got an alarm, it was mainly for the remote unlock and chirping to find it in a parking lot. People don't pay attention to alarms anymore. Alarms don't really stop thieves. If you get a shock sensor, make sure it's set low enough so that thunderstorms and engines reving in parking garages don't set it off.
