I think that's part of it. Also the other part is that it takes more than the initial monetary outlay to properly own and maintain a nice car, without even going into modding it properly which basically turns this car into a money pit.

If you know for a fact you can afford the car and to properly maintain it, and you're fine driving it stock, then nobody is stopping you and you don't need the approval and affirmation from anybody here.

Yeah, purchasing the car is just the first step. For a first car i would recommend a 4 banger just for experience, easy to maintain & drive, etc. I could only imagine myself at 15 with a 300 hp car lol

well this isnt for sure yet, i still gotta check it out, considering what you guys are telling me it might not go through. if it was up to my parents they would get me a new car.if they are willing to get me a new one when im 16 i might as well give them what ever i have then probably somewere over 8k, and i was looking at the impreza wrx, mazda speed 3, civic si, GTI. all being 2010 or 2011 by the end of this year. im falling more for the WRX under the new car list, but the G is an overall winner for me. i tried to convince my mom to give me her 2008 lexus gx470, lol 60k car. tv's in the back navi, 3rd row seats, etc etc top of the line loaded. she said no, i love the car cause it drives so smooth and it responds quick cause of the v8, ive driven that car from miami to orlando, which is like 4hours and i drive it almost everyday. so for you guys sayind, "280-300" is alot for a first car, it is, but ive driven cars with more than 280-300hp and i can handle them.

as for the insurance, the car will be registered under our family thing, and ill be registered under the cheapest car on there, thecnically i can drive all of them cause im under the plan, nothing illegal there,

As for gas my parents have that.

And to G35,6MT
thats good you have been looking for a while, don't rush. And don't buy a salvage title. A g35 for 7k? its definitely junk. If you only have 8k and you need a car don't buy a G, theres some maintenance evolved with cars, and specially nicer cars. I would recommend, toyota celica, or maybe an older civic si, cars like this. And if you really want a G then save up or invest your money and wait till your 17 and get one. I'm not trying to hate on you, trust me I'm one of the younger guys on this forum. I hope you find a good car!
im surprised u haven't been for saying that...

like previously stated, many of the members on here have bought their cars brand new, paying 600/month to own it.

its nerve wrecking to see 17 yr olds driving a 300 hp car and have that much responsibility in their hands

myself, i would never drive my G to pick up my sister @ the high school. EG's, EK's, Si's , even camry's would be revving @ me. even if you are the responsibility one, peer pressure and "showing off" in the moment will be likely.

esp when they are given it to them by their rich parents.
(not "hating", im young myself)

respects gotta be earned, comments like that wont get you very far on these forums

ya the gx470 are very very expensive, we pay like 850 a month.

and at highschool's its true alot of kids are irresponsible, everytime i go to the bus i see all the kids pulling out the senior lot going fast as **** and braking hard as **** and blasting the music, its kinda funny, but to tell you the truth im not like one of those kids.

^ thats bad@ss, i wish I had an AE86 to play with O.O

i shared cars with my mom, 2001 camry , at least it was fully loaded with carbon fiber trimming (in a camery what!? ) and leather seats, sunroof, etc.

i consider it a nice kinda first car. still love to drive it to this day reliable and not gas consuming , and i can go over speed bumps >2-3mph hahahah
