New Jersey Ticket law

Anyone know the laws in New Jersey about speeding tickets? I got onetwo days after getting the G. 88 in a 50. People are telling me I might get my license revoked. This is my first offense for anything. Any help would be appreciated.

I own German performance cars... I just bought a G35... I like the G35... thank you...bye now.

Re: New Jersey Ticket law

You go in to court and talk directly to the prosecutor, you plead guilty to a lesser charge, say 64 in a 50 I think, and you get the 2 points instead of 4 and pay a court cost. The state really doesn't want to take your license, they just want your money. Cha-ching.

Not sure about the Jersey laws but have heard they are strict. I think you'd have to plead guilty or definitley get a lawyer and that may help reduce it for you.

Also you drive German performance cars and this is your first offense? Nice cars btw.

Re: New Jersey Ticket law

A friend of mine got pulled over on the parkway going 104 on 65. He had to go to court and the judge made him get a lawyer. He went back a month later with the lawyer (court appointed) and it did not help. He got 30 day suspension and a $500+ fine. They were going to lock him up without the lawyer for 2 weeks!!
Every town is different and some will let you off easy. Expect at least a pretty good fine. Good luck!!

GmWhite is right, IMO. I live in NJ. Every town is different but for the most part you can count on judges being harda$$. My advice: get a lawyer.

Re: New Jersey Ticket law

It REALLY depends where in NJ you got caught. Never speed between exit 33-36 on 78. Anything over 15mph is a license suspension or 30 days...the judge is crazy.

Re: New Jersey Ticket law

i just got popped for 3 different tickets
70 in a 30
reckless driving
registration wasn't signed

Bought a lawyer and my initial court date is Sept 17 but that's just when the judge tells you what you've been charged with. I then will go to court again to find out what's going to happen to me. My advice GET A LAWYER. You can pay for it now or you can pay 5K a year when your insurance goes up or you get dropped.
