Spring Time and Used Cars
Spring Time and Used Cars
So this is my first post here, although i've been creepin the forums for a few months now. Great site! What an excellent resource!
The story:
I went to a dealership nearby looking find an estimate on an 06 6mt coupe. The salesman told me to buy now because in the spring the prices will go up on these cars.
My thoughts:
There may be truth to the theory that warmer weather (I live in Canada) may be a better time to sell a sports car. However i'm also curious as to how depreciation plays a roll in the price of these cars.
The questions:
Should I hurry and place a smaller down payment sooner?
Or save up some more and drop a larger sum in a couple months?
and finally, how much difference are we looking at between a winter and spring G35??
Cheers!

i think a lot depends on how long the car has been on the lot. i baught mine on feb 28 last year and i talked em down 1400 after they dropped it 1000 a few days before because it had been on the lot for a while.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

I bought my sedan last spring and 3months later the same dealership was charging $2000 more for similarly equipped cars with comparable mileage.
It's an independent dealer that always has 1 or 2 05-06 G sedans.

Around here anyway, once the snow is gone rwd/sports cars/coupes go up a few grand on each one. There is much less market in the winter time for them hence why the price is a tad lower. Come spring, everyone and their grandma are wanting to get into something new so the prices will start to go back up.... kinda like a supply and demanded with weight on the season.
