G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

I thought I would post all of the reviews that I was able to use in making my decision on the G35C. Of course the test drive was the real key for me! It more than counteracted the stuffy “not below MSRP” jargon from the dealerships.

Add to the list as you find more of them so that we can all read the new reviews/information and the board owners can add to their links page.

What review/information helped you make up your mind about the G35C?

Comment of the validity of the reviews i.e. is it really a 3 series beater?

Post your own review! What are your Pro’s and Con’s on the G35C?

Re: G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

Oh by the way, I would agree that it is a 3-series beater. I drove the 3-series extensively in test drives before the G and didn't let price factor much into my decision but still liked the G more. Speedwise it's similar but it handles better, feels better, is more fun to drive, and looks better.

Thanks zman for that list! Saved me from lots of looking around. I already have my G35 C, but it's nice to read what I already know - how great the car is. Thanks.

Re: G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

ok I'm gonna let you go on this because this is a G forum.

and you are entitled to your own opinion, but more fun to drive and looks better is definitely a strong opinion. Handling and feel many experts will disagree on, perhaps not here but anywhere else.

Re: G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

I thought the handling and fun-to-drive aspects of the G35 and the 330 were just about equal. I got my G35 because it's 5-series sized and 2-1/4-series priced.

Re: G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

e46, obviously feel is subjective, but on handling, check the automobile mag review on the G - "The G35 corners harder".

There you have it, from the "experts". I also checked a MT I have lying around and the G35C matches the M3 SMG's slalom. And we know the M3's handling is far better than the 330's, so it would follow that the G handles better from that too. Now you might have a point if you said ride quality/ handling combo (which is subjective too, I thought the ride quality was similar in both), but at the cones, it looks like the infiniti has it beat.

Re: G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

If I'm not mistaken, the R&T article that rated the G35 first place did so mainly on price.. but the 330 squeaked ahead in most of the performance categories. I think it depends on the magazine, and the reviewer, and the phase of the moon, to some degree. Let's not get into a 3 v. G war here. They're both excellent cars, and it's about time BMW had some serious competition. I'm sure we'll see some nice strides in the next few years from all the makers.

Re: G35C Magazine Reviews and Web Reviews

Yes, but the R&T article did but I believe it was comparing the sedan to the 330i, which are two very different cars. The only direct comparison I've seen between the two coupes is the automobile mag review.
