Well kids it was a beautiful sunny day here in Victoria, BC, Canada so me and the Mrs took 2 Gs out for a test drive. One a 2006 6mt coupe the other a 2007 auto coupe. Well I gotta say, both cars are a pleasure to drive...I have been researching and studying them to death but after driving both cars would happily place either one in my garage...The 2006 mt has 75k kilometers on it and the dealer is asking $26K. The 2007 auto has 33k kilometers and the dealer is asking 31k. Both cars are white. Seems we have to pay more for our cars up here in Canada. We are going to talk about this over the next few days to see how we want to pay for the car, and have left the dealer with our number and what we are looking for in a G. Dont know if i have my facts right , but apperently we can purchase an extended warranty on the car and if it isnt used during the duration of that term, have the money reimbursed......Will look at everything more closely when we decided to purchase a car for sure....thanks for all your help so far and PLEASE feel free to offer any and all advice........

hopfully soon to be G owner!

A fellow canadian, from BC I see. I'm from Winnipeg, MB, but have family in the osoyous valley (i think thats what its called...kelowna area) and visit them semi-frequently, i love bc, winnipeg is a horrible city, don't come here unless you really want or have to.
G35's are beautiful cars, and pretty quick (not as fast as my friends v12) but not so good on gas, which in canada it can be a little bit of a nuisance with our constant $1.00 per liter gas, and 1.10 for premium, which is required in this car. I usually get about 480 km to about 60 liters, and yes, I do drive my car "spiritedly" if thats a word. That also includes about 20-25 minutes of warmup time as I like to warm the car up in Winnipegs cold weather for about 2-4 minutes before moving at all.
Other thing, Your buying from a dealer, which has its advantages, only disadvantage is price, which is much higher then private. Second, your buying in canada, which these days you just get screwed from some reason, and i kid not about this. Buying in the states is a great way to save a few bucks and make a nice trip out of it.
I personally bought a 05 coupe (almost 06, it even has an 06 feature I believe since it was manufactured in february of 2005) I bought it in the US for $19,500 US dollars, which is roughly 20,500 Canadian, of course this frequently changes and you should really choose the time in which to buy US dollars wisely as it will make a fairly signicant difference, had I bought all my money exactly right now, I would have saved close to $1,000, but I've gotten over it knowing that you can never get it perfect (I actually trade currency sometimes just to make money, you can never get the best rates etc etc.) Anyways, long story short, my g35 only had 42,000 KM's on it when I bought it, which is lower then the 06 you were looking at, and somewhat close to that 07. My car is fully loaded minus the navigation, and is a 6 MT, which will cost you a little extra as they tend to be more desirable. So this just goes to show you the deal you can get when buying in the states. You must consider importation fees (6.1% duty, GST, PST when you insure, and $200 registration fee and $100 air conditioning tax, as well as a provincial safety which is usually around $50) You might also need to get daytime running lights, and a block heater. Obviously you also need to pay for the flight and hotels or other various costs associated with a trip.
Other advantages of buying in the US include, a great trip, and less or no rust, especially compared to cars in vancouver/victoria, unless they were only summer driven. Cars also tend to be in mechanically better shape down there because of the weather as well. Of course this all depends on if you are buying from a southern area or not, my car is from Colorado Springs, Colorado by the way.
If you have any other questions about importing a infiniti to canada please let me know, as I just bought my G35 in november 09.
