Trade in Value

Hello,

I'm not sure that this question is addressed to the proper forum, but I'm going to shoot for some advice anyway.

I'm in the market for a 2004 G35 6MT coupe. I own a SUV with some extras (22" wheels, Pioneer in dash touch screen DVD, amp, spkrs, etc.). When I trade-in my vehicle, do you think the dealer will add value to the trade-in for the aftermarket parts on my SUV, or do those extras not count at all? This will be my first trade-in on a vehicle. Any advice for people that've had experience trading in their former vehicles for a G. Thanks.

Re: Trade in Value

Probrably wil not get much additional for it if any at all.. I would suggest selling your SUV outright. Then go in with cash. You'll get a lot more selling it yourself and it is easier to negotiate when you do not have to negotiate a trade-in and the car that you are buying at the same time.

Re: Trade in Value

I would put all the stock stuff back in the vehicle and sell your aftermarket stuff separately. You will probably get more money that way. The dealership will probably try to rip you off.

Re: Trade in Value

Thanks for all the advice people. I'm going to avoid the trade-in after listening to all the feedback. I guess I'm a little too anxious to get my hands on a G = )

Re: Trade in Value

Yup, best bet is to sell your car on your own. That's what I did, and I got more off the streets than I would at the dealer.

Yeah, they wont give you jack for the stuff. But bet your rear they will charge extra for it once it hits the lot.

Re: Trade in Value

I will definitely wait for the 2005's if I don't sell my current vehicle within the next month or so. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Trade in Value

Why wait for a 2005? They don't have Brembo brakes and the +18 HP is easily gained with bolt on mods. Besides that, the 2005 cost more and have the ugly 19" rims...jus my 2 cents.
