Clutch shuddering
My clutch feels like it's shuddering when I let it out, and only in 1st.
It doesn't do it all the time, and I'm fairly sure it's something new. Is this just something that happens after a little wear? I'm at 22,000.
Oh and does anyone know if you can switch headlight assemblies from a 2002 Maxima to a 2000? My girlfriend just bought a 2000 and she thinks the 02's headlights are more aggressive.
Thanks.

Re: Clutch shuddering
I don't think it's a wear-and-tear thing. How exactly is it shuddering? I mean, how does it feel to you, what part of the car is shuddering? I don't exactly know what you mean, that's why I'm asking.
As for the Maxima, I'm not sure about fitting those 02 headlights in, but I do know that if the 02 Maxima has Xenon headlights, you can just pull them out with your bare hands, lol.

Re: Clutch shuddering
If you are describing chatter then it's an issue with the clutch/flywheel. The problem tends to be most common with poor clutch break-in, but contamination or flywheel or pressure plate warpage issues can cause chatter to occur. The solution would be to change the clutch and resurface the flywheel.

Re: Clutch shuddering
Well it's not too bad. It's hard to describe, but it shudders a bit when I let the clutch out in first gear. I can feel it when my foot is on the clutch. It doesn't happen whenever it's fully in gear. Its only when I let the clutch out at lower RPM's.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Clutch shuddering
My car has the same chattering/shuddering too when letting the clutch out in 1st gear. It's done it since brand new - the day I picked up the car. I've got 11k now, and it hasn't changed. It's slight, so I'm not going to pursue getting it fixed.
