I would say don't get it. you know when theres a turbo they must have done some damage to it. personally, I wouldn't even buy a car with the emblems taken off.

anyway, something like that will take a lot of patience, knowledge, and money to maintain. really, two out of three of those is good enough.

Ok thanks for the advice guys! Its a sweet car! But i'm not looking for a money pit. I guess I could always take the turbo setup off if it creates problems, but at that point i might as well but a stock car

Trust me when I say that the car likely has major problems. I bought my 03 coupe used for 18K with about 50k on it. Considering this vehicle has a lot of extra work, there's no way the car should be priced that low. If you're dead set on the car, make sure you have it checked out by a reputable tuning show that has worked on these cars before.

Sure it may seem like a great deal, but keep in mind, try not to buy a modified car unless if you know for a fact that it wasn't abused which is a rare case..

Plus, if I were to buy a modified car (which is rare itself), I would make sure exactly what kind of setup it was running and back to my first point I stated of knowing how that car was driven/treated/maintained.

Good luck in your decision.

One more thing to think about... (not to beat a completely dead horse) If you had a car, and you threw a turbo on it... Why would you do that? To go faster right? Not for looks, but to romp on and boogey right? Think about how many times this turbo setup has been romped on? How many red light rendezvous has thing had? The question isnt, "has the car been beat on" its more like "how many times, and how many more times does it have in it?"

+ 1,000,000 on that.
Heck I'd even apply that to an 03-04' G with high mileage (non-turboed).
I've seen young cats with automatics do the red light drag thing. Think I'll pass on that kind of money pit.

go with your gut....... my number one one rule when buying a vehicle is to not purchase anything that has been modified not even the emblems!.....unless its your first car or only thing you can afford something in that nature...

i am not going to say don't buy it.. and i am not going to say buy it..
because you could buy it and it could turn out good for you
or
you could pass on it and the non modified bone stock car you buy or whatever you have in mind to get, could turn out not so good....

the only way I'll think twice about buying a modified car is if it was a family members vehicle or a real close friends.

go check it out and do what you gotta do.
but remember "go with your gut"
if your looking at it and the person seems sketchy about things just leave.
i wish you luck on your decision.

I just want to stick up for the turbonetics set up not the car. I"m running this setup on my car and its wicked. As long as you keep the oil cool no worries but like anything if oil gets hot you looking at frying piston seals and rebuilding a turbo.

If you are asking this question, do not buy this car. Read FI for Noobs thread on my350z.com and don't even think about getting a FI kit until you understand what you are getting into.
