Thanks man, thats what I'm worried about. With all the searching around I've done, nobody seems to have an answer or even an idea as to what could be causing my issues. I really hope that it's not something expensive.

Why the hell is everybody talking about O2 sensors, when the OP said he Air Fuel ratio sensors were bad?

A/F sensors and O2 sensors are NOT the same thing. A/F sensors are mounted on the exhaust manifolds and will be a pain to get to with manifolds still on the car. O2 sensors are easy since they are mounted on the Cats.

OP make sure what ever you do stick with Bosch Sensors.

Yeah I'm aware. Thank you for actually reading my posts rather than skimming. I found that part online for 98 dollars each, which is why I thought the dealership's $956 quote was absurd.

Like I said though it was throwing a PAST CODE for the a/f sensors. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think means that they had just thrown up a code in the past and are working fine now.

I have no check engine light on, or any other light. The only problem is the 3500rpm delay (or "hiccup") in every gear, and occasional sluggish shifting. The car feels as if it is running a bit "heavier" or slower / sluggish.

^^^^THIS IS WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR ADVICE ABOUT. I'm aware that the sensor is cheap, and I know that the dealerships are ridiculous. I'm asking if anybody knows why my car could be doing this.

OMG, is it any wonder we don't trust Infiniti dealerships? I've posted this more than once but I never drive into the stealership for anything but
warranty work....ever! I really dislike the thought of getting screwed by them....

I'm glad I joined this forum and read about all the bs at the Infiniti dealers.. I had nothing but great experiences at the dealer I used to bring my Audi to, so I just figured dealership service centers in general were great. Absolutely not the case where I went.

I couldn't even get someone knowledgeable on the phone. I was stuck talking to some 50 year old woman Lisa who knew absolutely nothing about cars. I asked her where the part was located that needed to be replaced, and she needed to call me back 10 minutes later to go consult with a mechanic. When I asked to speak to someone who knew what they were talking about she just kept putting me on hold and bringing me "notes from the mechanic."

I told them that my passenger side window motor was having issues and that I wanted to have it looked at and possibly cleaned since it was slow and failed at times. They said all they could do was replace it, and that was $529.99. I will copy the invoice and post it up here in a minute. If you look up the part online, a refurbished motor is $129.99, new is $179.99. Why do they think they can get away with 100% markup on parts PLUS an hour+ worth of labor fees (to the tune of $120/hr). Insanity.

I know what he's talking about. Them be the upper sensor ones the lower ones are just checkers. I have a set.

WOW what a joke. If you want some REAL answers give Riverside Infiniti a call. They have a awesome reputation for giving really good service and being upfront. Here is their number: 951) 324-8282

I seriously CAN NOT believe they charged you $128 to check your damn codes. $120/hr?!?! BULL****. All they do is plug up the machine to your car and it gives them the codes. I hate dealerships with a passion.

Oh and one more thing. Not trying to be a post ***** or anything. When I bought my G35, the VDC, SLIP and ABS lights kept going off. This happened the day after I bought the car once I really stepped on it for the first time. I took it straight back to the dealership, the told me they couldn't replicate the problem. (Like usual) Well they cleared my codes, and I was about 1/2 way home, the lights came back on. Long story short, they told me it was the TPMS sensor on my 2003 Coupe. Too f*cking bad the 2003 G35 coupe didn't come with TPMS. I wanted to kill them.

It ended up being my speed sensor. They just didn't want to pay to replace it, even though it was clearly a safety issue.

Have any mods on the car? My FI non-res pipes were making the CEL trip like it was on acid. Changing all pre & post cat sensors with wide-band didn't fix it. I finally got Uprev and had all cat codes turned off,CEL hasn't tripped once since.

I bought a hand-held OBD2 reader,for $60 CAD,to clear the cat codes before I bought Uprev. Everyone should have one of these Imho, you'll be informed on codes you get BEFORE you go to the stealership.

In the service manual it says the exhaust manifolds have to come off to replace the front sensors...BULL****! If your mechanic has small hands and skinny arms he can reach them easily...mine could.

I'd make a complaint to Infiniti Corporate about the stealership soaking you to pull the codes.

I sent out an email explaining my TERRIBLE experience there last night, and they decided to call me at 8:45 this morning, 3 times in a row until I answered. Then they tried arguing with me, telling me that I was wrong and the prices I got were not for Infiniti parts. I told him even if I were ordering directly from an Infiniti parts dealer, their dealer's markup would still be $650 for a one hour install. Then he promptly switched topics to the window motor, trying to tell me that I had the wrong price for that also. I told him that I didn't care what I had to say, he could have offered me completely free repair and I wouldn't bring my car back there. Then I hung up.

I can't understand ripping off the customers who buy vehicles from you. I further can't understand then calling those customers when they complain, and trying to convince them they are wrong. I don't know where they learned, but I was taught that the customer is always right. Not call and argue with the customer if they figure out you are a filthy crook.

Thanks for waking me up an hour before my alarm was set to, Circle Infiniti. Another point on the looooooong list of reasons why I hate you.
