Need air sensors replaced... $950???
I have my car at a dealer after going through a pretty big puddle and experiencing some laggy shifting, delayed throttle response after shifts, and occasional hiccups. Otherwise, the car drives COMPLETELY FINE. I was told the diagnostic said i need 2 air fuel sensors replaced that are located on the exhaust, and the cost of replacement would be $956.
With some googling, I found air fuel sensors which appear to be the ones they are talking about, and the price is only $150. Does anyone have any input here? I really don't want to get ripped off and don't feel like spending a thousand dollars on two sensors.

My car is a 2004 and not under warranty anymore. I have a coupe and was told that the sensors on both sides of the car needed to be replaced. They said they are air fuel sensors mounted on the exhaust, and from what I can tell, this $120 dollar part I found online is what they are talking about.

I just picked the car up from the dealer. There's no way I'm having them do ANYTHING to my car after the run around they gave me.
The only issue seems to be the hesitation between 3400-3600rpm in any gear. It accelerates fine through the whole rpm range, but hesitates for a second near 3500. The slow/ delayed shifting is very occasional now. Is this something that could be caused by bad air fuel sensors?
The dealer said the diagnostic threw codes P1271 and P1281, which is a/fuel sensors bank 1 and 2.
MY MAIN CONCERN HERE is just to make sure I'm fixing the right thing and getting rid of my problem. I don't want to be further damaging my car by driving it, and am just trying to be cautious. It seems there are no honest mechanic shops around anymore, I can't get a straight answer from anyone.

I'm resetting the ECU by keeping the battery unplugged overnight. If that does not fix my problems, I am going to take it to a reputable shop that I found nearby and see what they have to say.
The only problem seems to be around 3400-3600rpm. There is a hesitation there in any gear, and I get laggy shifts and delayed throttle response when shifting around 3500, especially 1st to 2nd. By the way, my car is 5AT. Does ANYBODY have ANY suggestions as to what could be causing this? As of now I still have NO IDEA what is wrong with my car and I've had it at a shop and an Infiniti stealership.

Take it to Autozone.. Have them pull your codes. If its the O2 sensors.. buy a set, buy a O2 socket.. jack up the car and do the obvious. Everything is pretty straight forward once you take a look under the car. Just make sure you soak them in WD-40. I do most of my maintenance myself and have saved a lot of money. Don't rely on the stealership unless you're still in warranty
