Re: Drop...
i meant dizz took it offensively. think about it, there are many ppl that have had camber problems with the eibachs and has said that it rides shitty. i wouldnt want u buying something and end up regretting it...
Re: Drop...
i only took offense because you came off like a jerk.
"tripping"? it's like you thought i was imagining that my ride wasn't harsh or as if i was in denial. if you were there when they installed my springs and realigned my car and rode and drove it, then you have every right to speak your mind, but don't tell me what im experiencing and what im not.
hey, i understand that we're all trying to help each other out, but im telling everyone that i am satisfied with my purchase and it hasn't jacked up my tires yet. now if you can trust me, if anything does go wrong, you all will be the first to know.

Re: Drop...
Some people may have a negative impression of Eibachs and I intend no disrespect to them -- they're entitled to their opinion. However I have Eibachs and in my opinion the ride is excellent. The tires have terrific grip and there are no signs of feathering. I personally know of other G's with Eibachs who are also happy with them. I've been to the track without the Eibachs and with them -- and my lap times were consistently better with them.
In my experience reading posts here and at other G35 forums, people complain about camber issues with several manufacturers/ products, and I think it paints an inaccurate picture to single out Eibachs.
I know of at least one Eibach owner who never did an alignment after installing his springs. Undoubtedly his toe, camber and thrust angles were all badly out of spec, and his ride as well as his tires suffered accordingly.
It is absolutely necessary to do a four wheel alignment after the springs settle (I waited about 2 weeks) in order to eliminate (or at least minimize) these issues.
My guess is that for every vocal, unhappy owner of Eibachs there are probably several quiet, happy owners who don't bother discussing their satisfaction.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one love 'em.
If I didn't, believe me I would have changed them long ago! (i.e. the cost of new springs would be a fraction of the cost of new tires...)

Re: Drop...
Just a follow up. I thought the ride with the eibachs was great. The only problem I had was camber. There is NO way any of you can get the alignment even close to stock specs without a camber kit! The funny part was I always checked my tires for wear and thought they were fine. It wasnt until I took the rims off the car did I see how bad they were. Ive been in this game a LONG time and work for a performance shop, when you have a drop that low your going to have wear problems!
Re: Drop...
I stated my opinion and said you were biased. I think the only [censored] is the one that insulted my car as a comeback.
You know, there is really no need for me to lie about the eibachs. I use to own some prokits on my last car and thought about buying some for my g35. until I rode in my friends g35 on eibachs. The ride was really bouncy for daily driving. I don't see how you guys can say the ride is great because it is no where close to stock and the stock ride isn't all that great to begin with.
Its pretty obvious like the guy above that when you drop your car that low, you will sacrifice ride comfort and tire wear...

Re: Drop...
G352NV,
Yes, to put the camber within spec (post-alignment) would still require a camber kit -- it's inevitable with any springs (or coilovers) which give you that kind of drop. See my earlier post on page 1 of this thread, for what my camber was before and after. Right now my camber is still 0.58 degrees out of spec, which is not all that bad.
The reason I'm not too worried is that (1) the tires look fine (2) I'm not feeling any loss of traction on acceleration or getting slippage with hard driving, or at the track. When the camber is too far off, the performance loss is felt with hard driving since the rear contact patch is smaller -- and so far I'm not noticing that. One way to objectively quantify that performance drop-off would be through lap times, and they've actually improved with the Eibachs on. So at least their net effect on performance is positive.
Thanks for the heads up though. I'll keep an eye on the tires and the level of grip I'm getting, and give them a proper inspection for feathering when I next take the rims off the car.
