Unhappy Burned 5 quarts of oil in 3800 miles

To sum this up pretty much my 6mt 03 coupe burned 5 quarts of oil in about 3800 miles and now my engine is a knocking. I knew this car burned alot of oil but never like this.

The problem is my powertrain warranty ended a about 4 months ago and the mileage is at 73k. I have changed my oil every 3500 - 4000 miles and oil has always been low. The dealer even said that was normal and now I am screwed.

Does anyone have any advice, for the past year I have been driving my car maybe once a week and I never thought this was possible, I should of known better.

I forgot to say I need a new engine now and the powertrain warranty is passed by three months.

I guess you could buy an extended warranty from Infiniti for 12 months. Then take your car in to be fixed in a couple weeks. My coupe doesn't use a drop of oil between changes, no cars should. Our members need to be smarter than this and quit listening to dealership personnel that either don't know **** or are dishonest. If I was using a quart every 1K miles I'd be taking the OC test....

Hi there, last year I had this same issue, MY car is a 03 and had 67,000 miles at the time. Infiniti granted the warranty and a new replacement engine was issued (no loaner thou) thank GOD I had a spare car I could use cause the job took nearly a month. Infiniti service in PR is AWFUL i will never buy an infiniti again here mainly cause of the very bad review I have about them. In the states thou that's a different story.
