The engine bay looks pretty dirty for a car how many years old?

I remember just changing my valve cover seal on my 180k miles integra, and the internal was spotless.
The pics I see here, the internals looks like it has build up and and externals looks like it was sitting in the yard with the hood open for a long time. lol

But nice to see you working on the car yourself. I'm way to lazy to get my hands dirty now.

Yea, I agree. When I bought the car, it was spotless until I lifted the hood. It seems there was some oil from somewhere. Honestly I think the guy over oiled the air filter and it got everything sticky. Until this time I didn't have an opportunity to clean it. Now it's clean again. I made sure to get MOST everything clean...

It also added to it when the HB came off and sprayed oil all over from the front of the crank being open. The HB seals the front seal, when it came off it was open oil everywhere.

And on top of all that, i live on a gravel driveway... :-( I hate it.

Dude...you rock!...until I saw what you did I was proud of myself for always chaning my own oil, plugs, belts, water pumps etc., but you put me to shame....couple of questions I am curious about...what is a harmonic balancer...is that an aftermarket performance upgrade?....and how did you find a block so cheap...I thought it would be a couple of grand even if it was a rebuilt one...is it new or rebuilt?

Nice work. It was so dirty i can practically use it as sandwich filling. Interesting how it ended up not being the chain broken even though it had the same effect. When's the bumper going to be ready?

A short block is an engine block itself without a head or manifolds.

The long block includes the head, and intake maniold.
