So, where did you score the longblock for so cheap? Was it from an AT car or from an MT car?

3500 miles and running perfect. Our ran a M3 on saturday. I didn't want to race him but he wouldn't go away until I blew him away.

Nah, it has some good ware left and when I do change it I will change the tranny as well cause it makes noises. Just figured I would do it all at once. It will also give me some time to get together the money for it.

Nah, it took 2 days to pull it and put the new one back in.... Not bad at all. I thought it would take a lot longer but it was pretty easy

Great job! Surprised it only took 2 days. Have you worked on engines before? I'm subbed to this thread. I plan on doing engine work in the future as my car reaches 100k.

Thanks

Good job on the swap...but you already know that. The oil buildup in the plenum can be stopped by installing an oil catch can on the passenger side, do a search and you'll find all the info you need.

Imo you missed a great chance to polish the entire plenum and cam cover, I would have also polished the inside and honed the cylinder intakes.

Yea, but I had NO money when the motor went and had to scratch together the money I spent to get the motor. I have been on hard times, as many have, lately. But the wife is getting a job so hopefully i will catch up soon. I hate being broke.
I can always take it back apart to do anything new to it.
