13 sec 1/4 miles times w/ N/A motor
Hey guys, I’ve been lurking on this board for a while and am heavily leaning towards getting a 6mt coupe. Currently I drive a 00’ prelude and would like to upgrade to either a S2000 or a G35c 6mt. I love everything about the G from the styling to the amenities/options, but speed and handling wise, it’s comparable to the S2k (at least the ‘04s are…not sure how much faster the ‘05s will be). Anyway, something that I’ve always wanted in my next car is the ability to break into the 13s in the quarter mile. Right now, my lude can get similar times to a lot of what’s been posted (mid 14’s) with relative ease and having a faster car is a huge plus if I decide to sell the prelude.
Since it’ll be a daily driver, I don’t think I can afford to boost it, so I was wondering whether I can get into the 13s (proven track times would be really helpful in this thread) with the basic bolt ons (intake/plenum/header/cat/catback exhaust/ecu/pulleys/lightweight rims). I’m probably not looking into doing major work on the head doing more “advanced” bolt ons like cams/cam gears mostly for fuel economy purposes. Thanks in advance guys!
Edited by arrrmand on 09/14/04 12:57 PM.

Not too much into those new 4 door turbo cars (STi, Evo, SRT-4). The G's styling is the best out there right now and it plays a big part into what I'm looking for. Speed and handling are great too, so that's what I was wondering with this post. I wonder if the '05 Gs can do it without mods.
I was also considering the GTO, but I'm afraid of the quality.

Re: 13 sec 1/4 miles times w/ N/A motor
it could just come down to the driver i guess, but i have seen mid 14's stock but not too much of a dramatic change with mods (lowest i believe i've seen was 14.1 with all the bolt ons i listed previously). it can't be that the G doesn't respond well to mods (like the prelude) because i see dyno sheets that show the increase....perhaps it's not dramatic enough due to the weight? has anyone (5at or 6mt) broken into the 13s with bolt ons?

Not interested in turbo....it'd be great for the speed, but maintenance, fuel efficiency, and reliability wise, I won't be able to afford it. I'm sure any turbo/supercharger kit can even break the G into 12s....but that's not what I'm looking for.

I ran a 14.1 on a Gtech but i figure without my heavy 19's i should def. be in 13's but that's not the track, i figure witht he plenum and stock wheels with good tires that might be doable at the track, we'll see!!

my best stock 1/4
14.27 @ 101.3
I'm hoping the next time I get back down to that track I'll have an injen intake & crawford plenum
RugRatCoupe did a 13.86? @ 101+?
with basic bolt-ons
injen intake, crawford plenum, RT cats, stillen cat-back, TS ecu
there's another track we go to that has about .5 sec. slower times. And I ran a 14.4 with a z-tube and RT cats. so I guess on the better track I'd be in the 13s.
one track is 1100' asl
the other(better) is 350' asl

Re: 13 sec 1/4 miles times w/ N/A motor
hmm, so i guess that as long as it's possible; though i have yet to see actual timeslips or confirmation from someone who has run the 13. i'm not too confident about how accurate g-tech is...i heard from many sources that it's a couple tenths of a second off from a real drag strip, but i think i've gotten enough responses here to know that it's within grasp.
