Added JL 10W3V4 - very little bass increase
I put in a double din using the metra 7551 harness on my G months ago with a Pioneer AVH-4100. I still have the stock Bose speakers/amp. After installing the double din, I lost a significant amount of bass, which I knew would happen from reading other posts on the forum. Overall, I felt the sound quality was better since I can tweak the sound much more with the equalizer settings on my pioneer deck, but I wanted to fix the loss of bass. Therefore, I purchased a JL 10w3v4 SVC with an alpine MRP-M500 amp. The previous owner of the car already had the wiring setup for a subwoofer/amp so I decided to use those connections to make the install easier. The previous owner tapped into the bose amplifier with a green box (LOC I am guessing), which has RCA cables coming out for the amp. I installed everything and everything turned on and the subwoofer works, but its definitely not as loud as it should be. If I hook the amp up via the subwoofer outs on my headunit, would that solve my problem? I just want to know before I have to rip apart my dash again and run a RCA cable from the front to the trunk. Thanks.

8 guage power wire, which is what the Alpine MRP-M500 recommends. My cousin believes the LOC is the culprit since I changed my headunit out. He said with the stock headunit it probably would've sounded fine. Eitherway, he told me to run the RCA cable straight from the headunit so I can control the levels and frequencies straight from the double din. Its just gonna be a bitch to run the wire from the trunk all the way up to the headunit.
