Console Lid in 6MT?

Console Lid in 6MT?
Hey all,
For those of you that have the 6MT, did you guys keep your console lid on?
Console Lid = Leather Armrest between front seats.
I just went out tonight and removed it.
Sometimes, the DAMN armrest gets in the way of shifting and just bugs me. I'll drive with it up, half the time. ESPECIALLY if it's a hot day and i'm sweating. The WORST is when the passenger is sweating all over it. NOT GOOD.
Just wanted to see who else is as weird as I am.
(I haven't stuck on the magnet cover just yet. Might change my mind and go back to having the console lid back on.)

why would you take the console lid off... It's never got in the way of my shifting, in fact, it helps quite nicely because my elbow is just long enough to rest on the end of it. Works great for me

same applies to me. The console lid never really bothered me. Well a few instances such as "overly sweating on a hot day" and having to get it fixed b/c I leaned on it too hard while trying to grab something from the back seat.

I have an 03 and went out and bought the arm rest console cause I liked it.
If you had a willow interior, I'd send you my 03 console.

To each his own i guess.
First day and i'm liking not having it there. Especially with the heat. (I live in So Cali and it's been freaking sticky-hot lately)
I'll probably put it back on once winter hits and i go back to long-sleaves.
