Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics

The wheels on the blue car are 19s, the 18s look the same as last year. They don't appear to be as large , because they spokes don't extend to the tire, they have a lip which makes them appear to be smaller than the actually are. (I like a wheel with a lip, I have Nismo's, but at first blush, I don't like those wheels). The pict. of the wheel alone is the sedan 18" wheel. The Coupe 19 and the Sedan 18 look very similar. The new 18" 350Z wheels look great IMO. Also, Intelligent Key is available on the coupe with 5AT, but no 6MT. The new owners manual is on the web, and describes it.

that manual is for both sedan and coupes... sedan specs clearly outline the intelligent key in one of the premium package but no mention at all for the coupe...

Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics

personally, I'm now ECSTATIC I got one of the last 2004's.

Negatives: The aluminum trim will dent (aluminum is one of the most brittle metals), 19's or not - the wheels are absolutely hideous, the two 12V outlets are no longer up front (making the use of a radar detector virtually impossible without a hardwire), and the lack of the mighty Brembos... I can see them being a MAJOR selling point long term on the used car market.

Positives: For some the adjustable seat is a huge deal but I am the only one who drives my car and I haven't moved the seat once since I purchased the car - I can still see this being a nice feature. MP3 - OK, this is really a great feature and it appears that the hole in the dash is now a different size, ruling out a retrofit. The guage cluster looks more modern and the location of the clock works better with the nav.

A nice update for the interior (except the missing 12V outlets!!!) but the part that most will notice are the miserable rims which to me are ruining the car. Another thing, in the other post they show the new 298HP having less torque than the 280HP motor? Also has there been any confirmation of how they're making these extra ponies?

Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics

Actually the Blue car has Bridgestone RE 050A, (at the tune of $330 ea, that's going to hurt when they wear out!) Look at the tread pattern closely, notice the blocks that flank the center strip are in the same direction, the S-03 both point toward the center (like an arrow). also look at the 3rd picture (i think), I blew it up and it clearly said RE 050A. The wheels on the blue car are deffinately 19s, look at the spoke legth and the profile of them compared with the last picture of the wheel blown up.

Don't know much about them. They must be Bridgestones new high end tire at that price. I don't know if they are going to replace the s-03 or not. They also must be pretty new, only 1 review of them on tirerack.

Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics

I don't think the 05 rims are that bad, they look more aggressive than the older 18" rims, but nowhere near as classy. Being forged and all, the new 19" should weight significantly less than the older 18". The interior is definitely an improvement, even though I would prefer the clock in the old place, and the ***** to be silver.

Last thing, the additional weight on the coupe will hurt its handling. I was really hoping the weight would go down in 05....

Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics

Yes, you are correct those are a18s. But those are not the same wheels that are on the blue coupe that all the other pictures show. The other pictures are obviously have Bridgestone tires (RE050 to be exact). And the picture you kindly posted are Goodyear NCT 5s. That wheel is actually from the sadan on the from the original pictures infiniti released that were posted here a little while ago. Also look at the profile of that wheel compared to the one on the other pictures, they definately don't look the same to me.

It really doesn't matter, mine is still on order but it won't be here until Feb. We just spoke to the regional rep and they are going to START building them in NOVEMBER, and they won't hit the US until FEB. Man that sucks! I guess I'll have to be patient.

Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics

I think those are 19" on the coupe. Also does anyone notice that the car looks alot higher now? The wheel gap is prob larger due to the 19" wheels and lower profile tires.
