NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics
Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics
Interior improvements are definitely a +, such as power adjust steering and power recline. Motorized navi? thats what I m talking about. But, the rims definitely do not look better than the 03-04 18's in my opinion. When you see the 03-04 spinning on stock 18's, the look is ridiculous. It looks big for the car also, fits just right. Those rims whether they are 18 or 19 definitely don't suit the car as well as 03-04 rims...Oh well, like somebody else said, lets wait for 2007. Or maybe I'll look at the M next for 2006...

I love how you downgraded that HP increase to 2HP! Wow that must be that "New math" that they are teaching these days. First of all, the HP increase is 18 at the crank (not 10 as you claim). Second, from what I have leaned whp is approximatly 80% of bhp, so 80% of 18 would be 14.4whp (we could round that down to 14whp if you like), not 2-5 as you claim. And another 14hp is worth the wait to me, in addition to the interior upgrades and 19" wheels.
Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics
My take on the 05 coupe is very different from the 05 sedan. While I believe the 05 sedan is an improvement over the older one in almost every way, the coupe is a different story.
1) No Brembos on the 6MT: Maybe not for others, but Brembos was a very strong selling point for me. Brakes to me are much more important than 20 extra hp. The extra control, feel and fad resistance will be sorely missed. In fact, if I were offered a straight trade (no $$ involved) for a 05, I wouldn't take it because of the brakes. These 2piston/1piston brakes are from the FX, and definitely no match for the Brembos. (even though they are touchy like the older brakes)
2) Extra 100lbs!? That is a BIG weight increase in our porky beauty. The coupe used to weight 150lb more than a 350Z, and one can easily tell the difference on the street. An extra 100lb will likely damage the handling of the G35C in a way that would be difficult to fix even with mods. I know new interior, power recline, power steering wheel and power NAVs are welcome additions, but 100lbs is a big number when it comes to performance. - If you can tell the difference between having a passenger vs no passenger in your coupe, then the 100lbs will definitely make an impact.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the new interior especially with the Ash scheme, and I wish I could play MP3 on my coupe. In terms of a performance coupe though, the 2005 compromises performance characteristics for trivial luxury items... I would love to make that tradeoff in a sedan, but not my sport coupe.
Finally, for those who desire the extra 18hp, it can be easily obtained believe it or not...... A TS reflash will give you just that, raised redline and noticeable more power all for around $500. I doubt there would be much difference in the dyno of a TS reflashed 03 G35C vs a 05 6MT G35C.

Hi,
You bring up good points. No Brembos for the 6MT is bit of a bummer for the sport enthusiast but wouldn't affect me cause I would be interested in the A/T version only. Another thing I notice was under Premium pkg the upgraded Bose system makes no mention of MP3 capability but only on the basic system. It could be a printing error I guess cause don't think they would offer two different HU.
Also does '05 coupe have vehicle immobilizer like the sedan or just basic alarm?
If I do decide to get one I would just order the coupe A/T with premium pkg and performance/tire pkg. No coupe sport cause prefer 18" rims but miss not getting the sport tune suspension and aluminum pedals. Glad not getting the preforated leather though!
Just my $.02!

Re: NEW! 2005 Coupe Pics
My bad homie. Wellz nice setup, hope you get it soon. For me, have to wait for the 6MT.
Would I give up the extra HP for Brembos, probably would. Infiniti made some nice changes with the 05, but it seem like they were trying to change too much within the 2 year mark of the car. They shouldn't of mess with the exterior of the car, this would include the brakes and rims..hehe. =) I wish that the 6MT would have some options not to include the standards that are on there. aka 19" rims. I rather get the 18" rims from 03/04, which I'm sure are the 18" of the 05, then to get those 19" in those pics if they are the true 19". Guess we just have to wait and see. Yeah, I wish they would have kept the weight down too as well. I what a mixture of both, but they, I really didn't like the interior of the 03/04, they changed it up a bit, but now I'm losing out on other stuff. Eh!!! Wellz, I'm still looking forward to my new car though regardless. I know I will love it w/ or w/o Brembros from the get go.

3512 lbs? And I'd take an educated guess that that is without the sunroof. The G is turning into a pig. It's a pretty fast pig, but a pig nonetheless. The differences between this and the S2000 are widening even further.

im glad i got an 04, to me the interior is getting too complicated, the 03-04 has the simplicity and elegance to it. Now it's just kinda throwed off. And the rims on the 05 are horrible looking, they remind me of those acura integra gs-r rims from like a 97 or 98 integra i believe...
the interior of the 03-04 looks very clean, looks like a modern air plane cockpit to me, which I love...

the 19's look much better in person. seeing them in pictures does not give them justice. the 05 sedan looks alot better than the 04 as well. it has a more refined exterior in my opinion. the rear lights have a different appearance, and i like it. overall, i like the changes to the 05. remember, its only been 2 years. its not going to be a complete restyle.
yes, whatever that last person said. Infiniti knew that they had to change the interior for sure during their 2 years status of the car. This explains why they didn't mess with the exterior for the G, knowing that it was already close to being flawless. To me, the interior was only the downside that I saw in the 03-04 models. I wasn't to thrill bout it. I could of live with it, but I could a lot better with the 05 interior. It just looks more modern to me. The 03-04 interior looks too classy and old styling. Plus I really didn't like the color of the center console. It's not exactly silver ya know. But hey, everybody have differ tastes, so more power to ya.
