How to get melted plastic off the exhaust pipe

I seem to have run over some plastic on the road sometime yesterday. I noticed it sticking out from behind my car like toilet paper to your shoe! In any case, it was one of those cling wraps that they use to secure boxes on palettes and it was a pretty long piece that wrapped itself under the car and melted on the left pipe.

I tried to figure out the strange smell emanating from the car while it was in the garage and it turned out to be this thing. I got all of it out except for the melted on parts. Should I just wait until it just melts off? The smell is annoying.

Well, you could get the exhaust hot and scrape off the melted plastic with an old, dull razor blade if the smell really bothers you. Be careful not to touch the exhaust with your skin, OUCH!

If you don't like the smell you might want to try to get it off because it's gonna smell for a while. A plastic bag melted onto our Oddysey's exhaust and it smelled for 6 months

Had the same, and used a putty knife while hot.

Propane torch if you have enough room to not catch fire to the car. That'll be hot enough to turn it to ash. But if it's on the tips, it could discolor the chrome.
