Airbag/Rocking Seat
Hi guys. So I tried searching for the damn answer to my question in other "airbag" threads but everytime someone else brought up my issue in the other threads, the question was never answered
Anyway, the airbag light on my dash started flashing so I set up an appointment to get it checked out at Infiniti since it SHOULD be covered under warranty...
My issue is this: when I first bought the car about a year ago and had it examined by Infiniti, they noticed that my driver's seat was a little loose. The rocking was (and still is) BARELY noticeable, but it's there. They quoted me $800 to fix it, but since it wasn't bad at all I told em to just leave it alone.
Is there a chance that this is what caused my airbag light to start blinking? I know that issues having to do with the airbags in our cars are covered under the powertrain warranty, but I know for a fact that my loose seat won't be covered. I wanted to see if anyone had any input on this before I take my car to the dealer; so I'll know whether or not they're bullsh*tting me if they claim the blinking light has to do with my seat, which is out of warranty.
Thanks

Thanks man, that makes me feel a little better. I'm assuming you haven't taken yours in to get checked out? I really hope they don't try to b.s. their way into getting me to fix my seat just to clear the light if that isn't even the reason why it's flashing.
Nah, mines out of warranty . I have 132k mi. on mine. But my seat creaks and my Air bag light is flashing even after I reset it a thousand times. I believe mine is one of the connectors in the front seats.
i dont know about ur g but on mine i took it toa nissan dealer to get an oil change and they told me there was a recall on the g35 with some airbag connecter or somthing like that and i got it replaced for free before that i had the airbag light flashing and did the reset a few times until it stoped but you should go to a dealer ship and ask about that recall or give them a call im out of warranty to i have 103k mi...
I'm following the "broken seat" thread (wont slide forward or back does everything else, Basically what should be a recall based on the hundreds of questions I've found and few answers) I'm no mechanic but I'm a decent electrition so I've been going through all the wires under the seat. ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, if you are facing the center of the car and standing on the drivers side leaning in to work on it, under the seat about six inches from the front drivers side and 10 inches back the wire that connects to the airbag is zip tied to the bottom of the seat. If you disconect the wires your airbag light will flash... AND its attached to the seat right where the wire connector is so I could see how the rocking motion could trip that sensor up. If you take off the plastics around the base o the seat and reach in under the left side you'll feel a square connector and I would bet that if you could free the wires up a little (and choose to still deal with the rocking) you should be able to take care of your problem....Still no short answer for fixing the switch though If thats what your looking for drop me a IM because I will eventually find the real problem if I have to buy another and disect my own seat because its really PI$$ing ME OFF!!!
