Re: ipod

i have the monster wireless adapter. It plays through several different channels on your FM radio. I highly recommend it.

Re: ipod

I tried various FM modulators (they all perform miserably in my geographical area). The cassette adapter seems to work best for me.

Re: ipod

I don't know what iam going to do. I have heard that the FM transmitters don't work to well and correct me is I'm wrong but the 05 doesn't have a cassette, so I guess I'm screwed! I don't want to go back to keeping a bunch of CD's scattered all over the car, and cluttering it up! Is there anyway to hard wire it to the stock head unit, maybe through the changer input or something?

Re: ipod

I have also gone through 4 different types of FM modulators, and all of them are pretty sad. I ended up using the same old Sony cassette adaptor I got back in 95.

My brother's car has a hardwired FM modulator which seems to work much better than wireless ones. Basicly it's a FM modulator with output directly to the radio antenna in the back of the head unit. I don't have too much details on it, but it sounds better than my cassette adaptor and has excellent output volume.

Re: ipod

hey beachbum, that is sweet. Thanks for that link. Of course I would have to install mine in a different location because my car has a different console(6mt).

Re: ipod

Also, I have satellite radio, so I can't use that setup, and I'm not willing to give up my SAT. Oh well.

Re: ipod

The cassette adapter SUXORS too. It plays real low, and when you turn it up the hissing from it reminds me why they STOPPED USING TAPES. It sounds like all my music is badly recorded on tape. And that damn hissing.......

I havent tried my itrip yet

Re: ipod

That is awsome. I was about to give up hope. I have an 05 6mt on order but I am not getting the lxy package (don't want to pay for the Bose system). Anyway, does the base system have the SAT input?
