Two axles. One in the front for the two front wheels, one in the rear for the two rear wheels. However many "rows" of wheels you have is the number of axles your car has. When I cross the Golden Gate Bridge, I get charged for having two axles.
OTOH, in the future you can search basic or in-depth car trivia/questions on Google to spare yourself this embarrassment.

well toll roads count axles as in like mustang rear ends (a solid rear)... ours have independent suspension, so the rear axle is essentially has 3 main parts (the pumpkin and the two "axles": each going from the pumpkin to a rear wheel)
