Quote: How do you only pay $30 for your oil change?

I use Castrol German 0w30 brand, and a wix filter plus $20 bucks for labor and it runs me from $60-$65

Change it your self

My last oil change was 10 bucks with A Bosch Distance Plus filter and Castrol Syntec

How is that even possible? A filter is about $4-5.. So you purchased 6qts of oil for about $1 each?

people that cant change their own oil are pathetic to me IMO. its not fun having other people work on your car, you gotta do the work and enjoy it yourself

I stow away on a boat that's going to some remote island. After dodging natives and an extremely ginormous gorilla, I gather up the oil from the source, bring it back and distill it into the finished motor man has ever seen. I then make my own oil filters from the pantyhose of only the finest supermodels.

You guys have NO idea how to touch this quality stuff

there's a difference between can't and want. Sometimes it's just easier to make an appt and have it taken care of. I like not having to drive to the auto parts store with my waste oil container in the car.

yup, its so much easier for my mechanic to do it for me. 10.00 for labor allows me to take a look under my car while its on the lift and inspect everything. then drive off 15 min later.

Sometimes, the clerks gives me the evil stare when I drop off my used oil. They don't even want to touch it like it's causes cancer. They roll in their oil collection tank and tell me to pour it in while they run of to the other side of the store. LOL

And yes, used oil is bad for your skin. I use latex gloves every time and change oil.

I buy the special at Auto Zone (it's five quarts of 0W-30 Castrol German oil and a Mobil 1 filter), it roughly $30 and labor is no cost. I do it myself and it takes about thirty minutes. Piece of cake.

What do you guys think about amsoil. That claim that using their oil and filter you have change your oil once every 25,000 miles/12 months.
