Trunk problem!

Trunk problem!
I've found several threads of 03-04 owners complaining about how their trunk won't open, and now mine won't. In the threads I saw most members had narrowed the problem down to either the solenoid actuator or the trunk wiring loom. Basically my trunk won't open and it doesn't even attempt to open, like whether I use my remote or push the button to the left of the steering wheel, nothing happens...no sound, nothing. And yes I checked the on/off switch inside the glove box.
So can someone tell me what the problem is, and is there a DIY that anyone knows of? I looked for one and couldn't find anything. I really don't want to go to the stealership...I've replaced 4 window motors on this car so I refuse to believe that I can't bypass two bolts/connectors.
Please reply if you have useful information.

i had the same problem.
mine was the wiring from the right side in the trunk. when i opened the sleeve the wires where split. i just used old wired with electrical tape to make the connection and the trunk would work again! i think if you search you should find a guide somewhere.
try youtube.

I'm having the same problem too. I haven't really bothered with it yet though. I actually had my rear seats down when it started happening so I could still get back there. Weird thing is that it works fine when the trunk is open. Does yours do this? Assuming you have access to your trunk.

A year ago I had a trunk problem too. It ended up that there was a wire that which sever (lack of wiring and rubbing against the metal) in the wire loom near the right hinge. The fix, pop trunk from backseat, there is a ribbon you pull on lodge in the middle crack of the seats. Once you have the trunk open cut the tape around the black harness and see which wire is sever. What I did was bought the same gauge wiring and extended all the wires so it would have some slack from opening and closing the trunk also wrap ****-load of electrical tape around the wires to protect them against the sharp metal areas. Oh yea make sure you disconnect the battery, it would suck if something shorted out.

Yeah I opened the trunk from the back, but I didn't try the other stuff yet...I don't have a day off until Monday.
