Knock Sensor/Camshaft Position Sensor

Can these be replaced on my own? How hard and how much to let the con artists do it for me? Anyone got a DIY for these?

Advance auto parts says 30 bucks for the knock sensor and 70 for the camshaft sensors. Not that expensive but how hard to replace them on my own?

Knock sensor is under your lower intake. That one is the most difficult to get to. You have to remove the upper plenum and lower and then the lower intake. Pretty easy but a lot of 10mm bolts. The Cam position sensors, there are 4 of them, are on the backs of each head. There is a green and a black one on the rear side of each head. Has a 10mm, maybe an 8mm bolt in each and then they slide out with a little effort because they have O rings to seal them up.

The cam sensors and the knock sensor are on the same wiring harness. I wonder if you don't have a harness problem.

What's the error you are getting?

The spot where the bolt would go here is where the knock sensor bolts down.

Here is what the cam sensors look like, this is the black one on one side.

Here is one of the cam position sensor holes

You can see both Sensor holes on the rear of the heads here

so if i have the right tools. i should be able to do this myself? or should i just let the mechanics do it? how much do you think they would charge? i dont really mind all the 10 mm bolts but do i need to do anything other than take apart and reassemble? do i have to reset anything? will this turn off the check engine light?

ill tell you guys what the car is doing. some times while im driving the car will just shut off and cruise slowly to a stop. and when i go to start the car it takes it a sec to crank up. this just started yesterday. i took it to advance auto parts and the machine they put the car on said that i needed these two things to be replaced. knock/camshaft. he also said one could cause the other to act up and gave me the prices for the parts. the car doesnt accelerate properly either and when coming to a stop sometimes feels like it is downshifting hard. im pretty handy but dont claim to be a genius. on my altima i have replaced the water pump, alternator, radiator and head gasget. i know it doesnt sound like much but are any of these things comparable to the work that needs to be done for these sensors?

When the Exhaust Camshaft Seal Position Sensor starts to fail, your car will throw the "Service Engine Soon" light. You may notice lower engine power or the engine has idling issues. This failure also shows up as error code P0369 when you check it with an
