Lol, another gas octane thread .

I use 91 octane gas simply because our cars were intended to use it. And it's only a few bucks more than pumping 87 octane for a full tank.

I know that a tune is required to get the most power when using a higher octane. But, if I were to put race fuel in my car right now I'm fairly certain I would see a gain. I'm talking about 100+ octane. I doubt going from 91 to 93 would have any effect.

Which is why I specified pump gas in my original reply.

top 10? hahaha i wish. Use premium only. as someone said before, running 89 can cause your engine to ping and cause engine knock which CAN hurt your motor. whoever said that 89 will not hurt your motor if the engine calls for premium made a false statement. whoever said running premium on a car that calls for 87 will do nothing for performance, +1 to you. octane boosters dont do squat for our G's either so +1 to whoever said that. some people dont know this, but shell V-power is Nitrogen-Enriched. thats what puts shell in a different bracket than other gas

yes you will get better gas mileage and performance. you will notice better gas mileage but you wont notice better performance eventhough its there. you will notice your car running better tho. keep us posted

+1, you'll also get less deposits in your engine by using the recommended octane gas. With running 89 octane for so long, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised on how much better your car is going to run after a couple fill ups.

Better gas mileage at a higher per gallon price. The benefit is negated.

Same goes for octane boosters, they do absolutely nothing for you if you're already running 91 octane.
Our cars recommend 91 or higher.
