for the guy who wants to call me out for using 89 octane, i never meant to hurt my engine at all i baby the **** out of my G. So theres that and i get gas at the shell gas station they have 87,89,91(v-power) i thought how there gas goes was unleaded(87) premium(89) and better then premium with no added ethonol(91) so get off my back about it last night i filled my tank with v-power and added a fuel injector cleaner with it so it gets all that BS 89 **** out. I also filled up ok i didnt have 1/4 of a tank and mixed octane i drove around wasted my 89 til gas light came on then headed for shell and filled up on 91 to be safe. We all love our Z/G's im pretty sure so NONE of use want to just mess up our engines, now for the guy who puts 87 in thats alittle overboard cause thats what my mom puts in here little 4 banger corolla so i dout a 300hp car can take the same gas as a 125hp car can. also not calling you out cause i have respect for ALL G owners, but im now putting v-power or more in my gas tank. sorry to make a long message but heres an example, ha you have a new born baby what would you feed it? Baby food which is hella expensive or go down to a mcdonalds and buy it a big mac with fries and super size? whats gonna be better in the long run? sorry if that was a stupid example but thats what i think it is. depriving ur G is horrible

Wow. That was completely unnecessary. Grow up, dude.

Everyone makes mistakes man. You're on the right track now, that's what counts. There are a lot of as*holes on this forum, more so than I've ever seen on a forum before. Nature of the beast maybe, and a lot of kids (or just people who act like they are) who think they are better than everyone else and post up with an attitude. I actually left this forum for probably 4 months because I just got tired of some of the retards here who like to talk crap just for the sake of sounding "tough", now I just ignore people.

Dude i had my motor replaced for oil consumption and so did hundreds of thousands of other people. it is a great motor, but show me where it says its a top 10 motor!!! top ten compared to what? The car is not cheap, mine was 36,000 brand new, and @ 55,000 miles i was consuming 1qt of oil every 1000 miles. the revised revup VQ also still has oil consumption and they designed it so it doesnt consume oil. maybe top ten out of Japanese motors, but not top ten out of all manufacturers.
SORRY FOR GETTING OFF TOPIC! to the OP, GL... use premium and dont let immature kids knock you for using 89, we are in a recession. they dont feel it because they live with mommy and daddy and have no big responsibilities like kids.

It'd be nice if an independant company would do a side by side comparison of different fuel suppliers, such as Chevron versus Shell (I use Chevron), and post actual results with real-world applications from each. Factors such as performance, engine wear and engine "gunk" build up, etc. Chevron says their gas with Techron is the best, Shell says their V-Power is the best. It'd be nice to get past all the marketing gimmicks and get some actual test results from a company that doesn't have ulterior motives and isn't on the company payroll.

true but things happen. you have it one year then hurting the next. its hard to predict the future and see ahead of time when we will be broke, it just happens. when it does, a few dollars counts big time

How much do you save from using 89 compared to 91? 5-10 cents per gallon?

You save what? 1-2 dollars per fill. LOL
