Also, after you get rid of the spoiler, you'll be missing a third brake light. You'll have to get that installed as well, if you want it, need it, or if required by law (is this required?).

Ok, I have a particular interest in this...
So are you telling me that coupes with factory installed Aero package DO NOT have the third eye brake light in the rear window?
I ask because my coupe came from the factory without the Aero package, they installed it at the dealer. It looks just like factory, no complaints, but I have the third eye brake light in BOTH the rear window, AND the spoiler. Is this different from factory installed Aero packages??

My sedan had the Aero Package installed at the factory, and there's a gray bump in the carpet in the back window were the brake light would go if it were there.

Conquie,
that is correct. Coupes with the factory-installed spoiler do not have the third brake light in the rear window.

Re: Can you remove the spoiler from the Aero package?
Thanks for the replies. I'd been wondering about that since I took delivery.
NOW, I'm left with the quandary of whether or not to have the dealer take the third eye brake light out of the rear window. I don't mind it being there, and to be honest, part of me says leave it just because it makes my car sopmewhat unique, having both.
But there's another part of me that wants to take it out because it'll make that rear "platform" (or whatever you want to call it) a little cleaner looking.

Re: Can you remove the spoiler from the Aero package?
Had the OEM aero kit installed on my coupe after I took delivery. The instructions say to just disconnect the 3rd brake light wires on the rear deck. Carefully pull the 3rd brake light assy forward (towards the front of the car) and then lift it up. Then disconnect the wires and put the assy back. I'm trying to figure out a way to completely remove the assy and then cover the hole on the rear deck. Thinking about stapling a piece of similar color carpet to a piece of cardboard, and velcroing it to the rear deck over the hole.
Also, since the trunk is heavier with the spoiler, the OEM kit contains replacement struts to handle the added weight. Something to think about if you are going to swap trunks, or remove the spoiler.
