I have an OB coupe and im in need of a front bumper. I know someone selling a Nismo bumper unpainted for $200. The only thing is its fiberglass. Im not worried about cracking the bumper even though im dropped but i am worried about color matching. IS it easy to color match OB with fiberglass bumpers or should i stay away from it? I thought it might not make a difference between Poly or fiberglass since the paint is black, but im not an expert. i know Poly is better all around but its expensive and 200 for a fiber Nismo bumper is not bad....i need a bumper ASAP mine is shot at this point so any prompt advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Whenever I've done body pieces I've always had my painter blend (in your case the fenders and hood) to ensure it looks good. The material he's working with shouldn't matter.

Tank, I wouldn't be in any hurry to install a f/g front bumper!
For a few $ more you can get the Nismo bumper in urethane which will last just like OE. If you have a good body shop where they do quality work like I have, the bumper can be painted to match perfectly. No need to blend like some recommend, that's b.s.! My coupe is in the shop right now getting her front bumper repainted cause some BMW pilot didn't know the difference between D and R. I have zero doubt it will be perfect (again) when she's back on the road....

Thanks guys... ya twarsop i got what you meant about blending and i do know sometimes its necessary and sometimes its not. it all depends on the condition of the paint surrounding the bumper i guess. But Gary, the F/G nismo bumper im getting is only 200 and the fitment is 90%. i see poly nismo bumpers for 500 a pop or close to it. so dont you think thats a good deal? the other thing is some poly bumpers dont even come cut out, it will have to be done by a shop and they charge more for that. this one already has cutouts. on top of that, i need a bumper ASAP and cant afford poly right now. but if i hear people have issues with the F/G bumpers i might just get an OEM bumper. im kinda torn on what to do sheeeeeit

I haven't read too much bad about the fitment of f/g. Id go for it if you really want it.
Thanks... im going to look at it this weekend. i might get it since now i know its not the material your painting, its the painter that makes it color match perfectly. i dont think i would get a fiberglass front lip with my drop, but im not worried about cracking the bumper so no need for poly really. if i get it, i will be extra careful thats all. i will post pics if i buy it

I've had both fiberglass and poly bumpers. Poly FTW. Poly is much more durable and from my experience, makes less noise when you are driving. Painting on either material shouldn't matter unless you painter sucks an doesn't prime the parts right.

^^ There are worse ones that have been revived... like 3 years worse. But this is still a revival, nonetheless!
