So you're saying you had no problems keeping up with a new, full bolt-ons, tuned wrx? And he knew how to properly shift his car? I'm finding this hard to believe....

What model/year car do you have? What mods?

And what's wrong with turbo/supercharged 4-bangers?

I'm sorry, but you're coming off as one of those new, cocky G owners.

Agreed.

I traded in my '05 Legacy GT Wagon for this car. With only up-pipe/down-pipe and a tune, it was much faster than my G35. I'm sure it was faster stock as well. It was an awesome car and I really miss it. I just wanted something nicer looking in all honesty. The extra comfort is nice as well. I really don't know if I'm totally happy with my decision.

If auto is better than why is it that all race times are better in manuals, 1/4, 0-60, etc etc etc? i can understand if its an unexperienced driver with stick but we all know that you can control launches much more effectively in a manual transmission car.. just my 2 cents. no hate

Because most people driving a manumatic don't have VB upgrades and such to help with the shifting. If they did, they auto is still slightly underpowered compared to the manual just due to power transfer.

wasn't the 09 model the same 230 hp as all other wrx's, the 2010 model got the 260 hp didn't it?

it was the new hatchback and i just new he had exhaust cai, cause i heard it over spool. also he said he had it tuned. also the wrx in newer years have a better 1/4 mile then the sti. pretty much from a dig he shuld have killed me but i soon cought up and pulled. also auto's are the best for a 1/4 mile drag to be all true. g35(auto) vs g35(manuel) not a big difference at all

from my race days with wrx, they always bog down around 3rd gear shift and top end for them suck.

back in my srt4 neon days... I would pull on wrx's around high 2nd to mid 3rd gear.

The price for the kit isn't bad, its the labor thats expensive. Estimate $500-600 to have it installed.

I knew a guy who had an 09 STI hatchback. All he did to his car was add the Cobb accessport and he was getting 0-60 around 5.0 seconds. I highly doubt an automatic G can beat that.

What chip?
Just curious, what does your car dyno?

That's good as long as he's well experienced in transmissions. It's a complicated and long install.
