I am planning on doing 35% all round on my DG. My friends M3 is about the same color and his car looks great with 35%

Anybody know a tint that won't interfere with V1 radar?

I have a DG coupe, and I'd kill for some metallic tint, but I don't want to give up any radar sensitivity under any circumstances.

G35 Coupe, 6MT, DG, Prem.

 

I have 35% metallic lifetime warranty tint. I can't go any lower due to this little thing called the Law. Being a police officer I could not go lower even though I wanted to .

lol, SBoden - just out of curiosity, based on your experience how often do you guys pull people over for tint violations? And how bad is it when you do? I'm trying to see what's the darkest I can go without drawing bad attention.

 

Unless I'm mistaken, tinting the front windshield (the entire thing) is illegal in all 50 states. I think some states let you tint a few inches of the top of the windshield.

Here's something I've never understood.

In VA, legal limits are 50% on front side windows, 35% on rear sides/back.

Why can't I black out the back if I want? I mean, it's legal to drive a generic white work van with no rear windows at all, yet I can't black them out if I have them? Explain that.

It's better than it is here in CA.. we can't put tint on the front side windows at all, as it "obstruct's the driver's view of the side mirrors."

I got 2% all the way around.....and 1/3 of the windshield as well...i always go dark..thats just how we do in FLA....!

Technically, in Florida you can have 28% on the front sides, 15% on the back and sides, and the front windshield can only be tinted down as far as the line marked "AS-1." Police officers carry light meters in their vehicles, and the law applies to out-of-state motorists, as well.

Just FYI, I'm not sure what the level of enforcement is over there.

Guam is the way to go.. their tint law was declared unconstitutional, so you can have limo tint all the way around.. including the front windshield.

do find any difficulties driving at night with that tint cuz that is dark dude
it looks great though

 

FYI: this isnt my first car with 2% tint on it. Cops are cool around here...they haven't bothered me yet (knock on wood)!
