Shift light flashes at 3.5 rpms?

So about a month ago my service engine soon light went on for about 3 days and turned off. Hasn't lit up since, at the same time the ses light went on, the shift light started flashing after 3 1\2 thousand rpms. Its not suppose to flash until red line. For all the 6MT drivers, its a small sqaure red light on the dash underneath the REV light. Had the car scanned, mechanic said checked out fine. The car runs fine, its just annoying as hell. Anybody else had this problem?

Never had that happen. Did you try changing the setting and then putting it back to where you want it?

You can change the set point for the light by pressing the trip reset button a couple of times 'till you see the shift light setting, then hold it down until you get to your desired rev.

mine flashes at 3500rpm as well. i set the shift light to come on at 4k and it comes on slightly early so you dont end up passing that point.

real simple, press the trip odometer until it reads something other than trip A or trip B and then hold down the trip odometer button, the numbers will flash, at that point you just press the button until you get to the rpm you want. once you select the one you want just let it sit for a second and it will stop flashing and you will have changed your shift light setting. mine came with a factory setting of 8000
