test pipes or cold air intake
#61
I guess the stock intake is a cold air setup IN THEORY. I challenge anyone to blow a fan in front of the grill and then hold a feather in front of the filter. I can already tell you the results....NOTHING. I think our stock intake setup is one of the weakest link of the engine's performance. Oh, and the "POWER DUCT"...what a freakin' joke! What the F can it possibly do if it is sealed SHUT by the hood. If anyone REALLY wants the most out of their intake setup...stop by my garage for a couple hours and you will be happy. Socal'ers only since I need to modify the car itself.
Actually.. I don't really have the money right now for the pipes, but can someone send me links for the parts cause I can probably put that together myself. Like the intake and stuff.
Can't find the revup box :/..

Ok I just went through this whole thread and I have to point something out. Maybe y'all already know, maybe theres no difference, or maybe it was edited/changed but...
Thescreensavers post read:
- "Factory intake is pretty good, you wont gain much if any from Aftermarket. Test pipes will give you power since the OEM cats are very restrictive but then you will gain rasp. "
followed b SxEcXc's (or whatever) reply that read:
- "Quote:

The factory intake is more like a NO-air intake! "
Sooo in conclusion: Maybe I'm lunchin here but from what I can see "thescreensavers" didn't say we had a "CAI"; but only that the "Factory Intake [was] pretty good."
So maybe the big argument shouldn't have arose in the first place?
