what specifically do u want to know? swapping t-stats isn't very hard once you drain some of the coolant...and not everyone even bothers to drain the coolant!

one thing i'll suggest is using a dab of RTV to secure the gasket to the back of the t-stat when you install it. it can be annoying to align the three bolts, t-stat, and gasket - the RTV makes it a little easier.

i swapped the broken thermostat out and installed a new one......it was easier than i thought. i spilled some coolant in the process but i didnt need to drain the whole system. I just refilled the coolant after the install and burped the car. Worked like a charm. No more overheating and no more fans constantly running 24/7 !!!!

I'm got an 03 Coupe, I couldn't get that small hose off the original thermostat, should I just buy a new one? It's OEM, just thought I would do maintenance. Suggestions?

I had a hard time getting that hose off too. You just have to keep pulling and wiggling it at he same time. It will eventually come off.

Hey we are local to eachother! LM resident here!

Anyhow, back in the winter, I would notice if i sat at a stop light, my heater air would become cold, then when I sped up, it would warm up. I really didnt think much of it, maybe I should have....

So lately, i have been hearing my fan come on a lot more often. This morning a light bulb in my head went off, I checked my therm. temp, and it was at the H. I turned on the heater to get rid of some of the heat. Finally, as I got on the fwy, it went to half way, but when I exited it went back up to H.

My friend said to check the coolant, so I will start with that, maybe just stop and pick some up, and fill the resivour some, and check the radiator. Any other idea's if the coolant is fine? Maybe the thermostat?

OP, where did you pick up a thermostat?
