the brand warranty (which includes airbag and parts warranty) follows the car. warranty's purchased through specific dealers or aside from manufacturer are the ones that have details if they can be passed on.

i bought mine private sale from a previous owner non-dealership and they granted the airbag warranty. if it matters got it in 07 (its an 03 coupe) in NYC with 29k miles. had airbag serviced in Virginia in 09 with 55k miles. was def past the standard warranty, different location and dealership, and different owner from original.

the light could have come on from something getting disconnected and then reconnected, which is why it didn't turn back on. so i wouldn't worry if it doesn't come back on.

^ word sounds good man. ya im not too worried. in my previous car i had gotten hit hard in the trunk by a f150 and it totalled my is300 and the airbags didn't even come out. i was more worried about it going off for no reason but that doesn't seem to be the case. thanks for the great info man and ya if i does come back on ill go up to the dealership and see whats up with that. i only have 40k on the odometer

check your mail. i just got a recall letter from infiniti about airbag module. and this IS for 2003-2004 models (mine is an 03). that past recall was 05 and up, so we're in luck this time.

Thanks for the info. I reset my light, but if it comes on again, i'll call the dealer to check if there's a recall on my 03...

Took my car into the beshoff on friday, took them 2 hours (only about an hour for the fix the rest was washing my car) and I didn't have to show them any recall letter or number.

so i checked to see if there was a recall number but there wasn't... just said pretty much "you're car with this vin along with other g35's your year". but sounds like in this thread that people are getting the work done just fine without a letter.

^A recall letter/number isn't required, all Infiniti has to do is run your VIN and they will know if your car is eligible.

I had a problem with my airbag light flashing about a year or so ago, I did the reset and it stayed off for the entire year....then it started flashing and I could not get it to stay off regardless how many times i did the reset.
Finally I took it to the dealer.....They replaced my drivers seat side airbag under warranty, ( Had just under 6 years of ownership).

Last week I brought it in for an oil change, and they did the recall. They replaced a wire assembly and clips on the passenger seat belt assembly.
