heres the weird part. the bill came out to over 1100 for parts. and i was worried because this was last year and my car was way past warranty. but apparently the airbag warranty is separate and 10 years (thats what the dealer said) and i ended up paying for nothing. hopefully you have the same case.
Anyone else have luck with the airbag warranty? I called up my local Infiniti dealer and the guy said it was 4 year warranty for the airbag. Is there a document where I can show them where it says the car has 10 year airbag warranty?

I have an 04 with no warranty and have had the dealer replace the problem not once but TWICE for free. There was a recall and they have it in the system so just call in and explain the problem and ask if there is a recall (They should say yes and schedule an appointment). This worked at the San Diego Kearny Mesa Infiniti twice, and they fixed it by replacing the wire harness the first time and resetting something the second time.

I took my car into Infiniti for an unrelated problem. Even though my car showed no signs of this problem or any lights flashing, they decided to replace a couple of things related to this airbag deal and they didn't charge me a thing. I think it all depends on where you go. My car is an 04 with a hair over 80K miles now, but I guess my dealer is just decent. I mean, most dealership service departments would rather do warranty work than deal with customers. They don't have to worry about where the money is coming from with warranty companies, their technicians get definite work, and they get to drive the amount of generated service dollars up all while making the customer feel like they are really taking care of them. It is a win win really. Any dealership that denies warranty work like this is uninformed or just plain silly.
