The coupe sort of smells weird

I just noticed this recently but my car emits this weird smell. Almost like dirty socks or funky feet.

I keep my car clean 95% of the time but have no idea where this is coming from.

I googled and was told to get a carbon activated in cabin filter along with this stuff called Clean N Coat which cleans our cooling coils?

Amazon Amazon

Did anyone have this issue and fixed it?

is it coming from the vents? make sure your carpet isnt wet, you may have water coming into the car...

you probably have a dead rodent somewhere inside the engine bay, most likely around the cabin filter area. It's fairly common especially on the eastcoast where it gets cold wintertime. I actually had just stored my G in the garage for 5 months in Toronto, and I had it shipped back to the westcoast to Vancouver where I'm at, and when I changed my battery I found that rodents had made a nice nest inside the cabin filter area behind the battery, I found pink fiberglass wall insulation inside which is what they use to keep warm.

no dead rodents though I got off lucky, sorry to bum you out bro and it's a sucky situation but yea, probably dead rats or mice if the smell is that persistent.

if you smell it strong when the heat/vent/ac is on then your cabin filter is probably dirty or growing mildew. Changing it with a base non-carbon filter would probably take care of it but switching to an activated carbon filter would be even better.

I'd try the cabin filter first.

yeah try cabin filter, even u didnt swap it out. blowing it off with air compressor or vacing it off and applying some febreeze or something to your liking will help a lot. i did that. my cars an 03 with 130k and it stil smells brand new after just cleaning it off. GL!
