Trunk Dilemma

Hey guys, basically I need to get my trunk repainted. The previous owner must have tried drilling something I dunno but when I took the fuji badge off there were these 4 weird dents. My problem is I dont know if I want to get this fixed and go wingless(currently 06-07 wing) or get the Strafe speed trunk. My only problem with the speed trunk is the fitment issues. I keep reading people cant get it to fix perfectly and it needs sanding done etc, etc. I like both looks, just need some opinions I guess. Thanks!

go with the strafe trunk, if it isn't an exact fit you could get your shop to make it work for a pretty low price. Also you could save your money on the repaint and just rock a CF trunk if ya wanted to go that direction

thanks for the advice, I definitely don't want carbon fiber, I would get the fiberglass one. How much you think it would be for a shop to paint and install it? I know each place is different but approx?

I imagine a decent paint job will be about $250-$300. If the fitment is right on, they'd prolly charge about $100 for install. If not, depends how much work needs to be done to make it fit right.

Hikkata Dori Dorilux is what a lot of people are running, looks like the strafe but the rear lip comes up higher and is more angled towards the back from what I understand, that trunk is pricey but another option to look at.

I've seen the Dori Dorilux trunk lids with a slightly larger lip and they fit perfect....prime/paint/install probably worth the extra cost. Check em out on our MARKETPLACE under vendor exterior.

The main difference is how high the lip is. Dori lip is a lot higher than the strafe trunks lip.

yes please do! for the price and the quality of our fiberglass since it is hand laid and not brushed it is a better quality product for the price also, members who have had fitment issues w/our trunk did their installs themselves (which is okay) but it is recommended a shop do the install.. it bolts up w/o modification pretty well as far as fitment, but it does require further adjustment of the bolts and latch to fit perfect like any aftermarket part

Good to know! If anything Im getting your guy's trunk! Question though: does it have the little bumpers on it so it doesnt scratch the paint? Umm kinda hard to describe what I mean haha. Its in the middle of the trunk on the factory ones where you would close it and it would meet the back bumper area....sorry for being so broad.
