So I sweat under the car today for a couple of hours and installed some Kinetix HFC's. Prior to this, I had been getting an annoying metallic rattle from under the car that sounded like a heat shield. After installing the HFC's and banging the heat shield away from the driver's side CAT, I lowered the car and took it out for a run. Exhaust sounds perfect... not obnoxious, just louder and slightly more meaty! Unfortunately, the metallic rattle I had before is back... with a vengeance. It's way worse than before... so I'm thinking it has to be the heat shield on the y-pipe? Aggravated more by the extra exhaust vibration??

I don't have access to a lift tomorrow, but I'm gonna jack the car up and prod at different things under my car until I find out where this god-awful noise is coming from!

In case it is the y-pipe, can anyone offer some creative suggestions that don't involve buying a new y-pipe??
