S Mods vs. R Mods

I am going to start modding my car shortly and I am very skeptical about how the dealer will hold up their end of the warrantee. I have read that there is a "List" somewhere of the mods that DO and DON'T void the warrantee (some have referred to it as the "R Mods vs. S Mods" list). If I could get my hands on said list it would be very helpful and useful in case the dealer gives me any $hit after the fact. I am wondering if anyone could shed some light on this and give me some input.

When I purchased the car the sales person said she loves it when people mod these cars and loves to see everything we do... then I said "well thats great but doesn't it void the warrantee?" and to my astonishment she said "absolutely not!" Normally I would take that and run with it but a week after I took delivery she got FIRED!!! So now I'm asking you guys... any input?

Unless the mod directly caused damage to the car and they can prove it, your warranty cannot be canceled. Not saying they wont give you a headache and make you call corporate, but unless they can 100% gaurentee that the mod caused damage, they cannot void your warranty because of it.

I've been told in the past that Intakes can void the engine warrantee but exhausts have no effect... any truth to this?

Re: S Mods vs. R Mods

The oiled on the filters used in most intakes can possibly foul the mass airflow sensor, in which case the dealer will not cover its replacement under warranty. That's why it's very important when cleaning and re-oiling filters not to go overboard with the oil.
