The '08 Nismo Z is faster/lighter than your G35, next time you go to the track pick on someone you can keep up with....you won't embarrass yourself!

It isn't a huge difference and is easily nulled by driver's skill, but you will see many sedan owners claim that they are much faster than coupes and have never lost and other crap.

As odd as that sounds, yes.

You have two things working against you...1 you are automatic and will never keep up with a 6MT. 2 that Nismo Z has the VQ35HR rated at 305HP under the new SAE ratings...which is more like 330HP on the old SAE ratings (which your car is rated under). You stand no chance without boost.

On a side note sedans may be lighter, but they really are not fast either. Either way these cars are slow without boost.

True but do not discount gearing...a 6MT Coupe will out run a 5AT sedan, and vice versa.

I have no idea why you lost to a 08 Nismo Z. You should have won by 10 lengths via style points alone

Uhh not true. A 287hp car isn't exactly slow, you just probably don't know how to drive one and probably own a 5at as well. People claim they know how to drive a 6MT all day, I've only encounter 3 dudes out of the 3 years I own my G that actually KNOWS how to drive.

Also when i let go of the brakes after i put the car in drive, i hear non stop squeaking. It seems as though the axle is making this sound...has this happened to anyone?

Thanks
First of all. you have an auto, right there you already lost. Going up against an HR engine unless you are really experienced with 6MT, chances are they will game over you after 65-75mph. Was it from rolling? dead stop? There are many factors that determines a race. Road condition (assuming you did this on a regular road), temperature, etc. Car to car comparison, yes his car IS faster than you. But in all honesty, like I mention before, half of the people don't even know how to drive a 6MT right. Get a 6MT and you probably will end up not losing as much. But unless you own a 6MT and have every bolt-ons possible, stop wasting your time and gas.

Not always, I would say 80% of the people that drive a 6mt G don't know how to drive stick well enough to beat a quick shifting autotragic. (I'm not referring to the people on this forum, I am referring to G drivers as a whole) Which is why so many coupes owners get pwnd but sedans owners. (majority of the sedans on the road are 5at)

JLO, just read your post lol nice

You figured me out man. I don't know how to drive my 6MT. The truth comes out. *suicide*

Correct way

I'm in an auto, so yes I am slow. Just wondering what you mean by "know how to drive"? No sarcasm, serious question... I know with different motors like a rotary, shift anywhere from 8 1/2 to 13 1/2 or a lil more, depending on the build. And pistons, the shift points are lower in the R's, correct? Probably gonna get blasted by everyone, but just wondering.... Inquiring minds wants know!!!

You have to really know what pistons to put in the rotary to really make them work well.
