Burned by a nismo...
All AMERICAN NISSAN CARS with a VQ use the Mexican made Vq35 (maximas, altima, muranos, etc. Basically all the FWD platform Vqs) The cars that ARE made in Japan (infiniti) use the Tochigi made VQ. (FX, EX, M, G etc.)
Sweet! We looked at a Max when we bought the G, but FWD and no Stick was a deal breaker. I wish now that I had dug a little more. I would love to test drive one. How is the torque steer? That was the one thing I hated about FWD. However my new Honda Si with the new "electric" power steering and LSD, has none.
The VQ35DE is built in Iwaki, Japan and Decherd, TN.
no one is being anything to you. U brought that to urself. Next time don't go into a new forum and post trollish comment for your very first post silly.....

You right, my bad
Really you're going to source wikipedia?
The American Nissans are 100% made and built in North America, including Mexico. There are tonnes of engine parts off the engine that say Mexico, none that say Japan.... Maxima's become 100% Americanized in 2004 with the release of the sixth generation. Since that IS what we are talking about, prior Maximas being built in Yokosuka is irrelevant. (even though most A33 were assembled in TN anyways)
If you actually referred to the "REFERENCE" they provided, they "sourced" it from guess who?

Yep wards auto. You know, the same site that awarded the VQ in their Top 10 motor of the year lists...
"Built in Iwaki, Japan, and Decherd, TN, Nissan's VQ V-6 is fast approaching an annual volume of 4 million units for worldwide applications. Which raises the obvious but uncomfortable question: With V-6s this good, who really needs a V-8?"
Now, show me where you got the Mexico thing from..
