Sorry to those members that felt that I've insulted them. It was not intended for you guys or the rest of the community, just the few that were being *******s to me.

You took what I said out of context.

All AMERICAN NISSAN CARS with a VQ use the Mexican made Vq35 (maximas, altima, muranos, etc. Basically all the FWD platform Vqs) The cars that ARE made in Japan (infiniti) use the Tochigi made VQ. (FX, EX, M, G etc.)

Sweet! We looked at a Max when we bought the G, but FWD and no Stick was a deal breaker. I wish now that I had dug a little more. I would love to test drive one. How is the torque steer? That was the one thing I hated about FWD. However my new Honda Si with the new "electric" power steering and LSD, has none.

I have none, just pulls forward. I do hate the fact the the a$$ drops and I get very little grip. Rolling, no problem but take off ghey, road course, ghey. Only reason I got it is because my kids, I need a 4dr and this maxima was fun because of the manual. I did test drive a G35 coupe 6spd and that was a lot more fun, specially on turns, just punch it and pulls right out of the turn, the maxima wants to slide like a ...oh well.

Hang on let me go edit the wiki page....

Really you're going to source wikipedia?

The American Nissans are 100% made and built in North America, including Mexico. There are tonnes of engine parts off the engine that say Mexico, none that say Japan.... Maxima's become 100% Americanized in 2004 with the release of the sixth generation. Since that IS what we are talking about, prior Maximas being built in Yokosuka is irrelevant. (even though most A33 were assembled in TN anyways)

Yep wards auto. You know, the same site that awarded the VQ in their Top 10 motor of the year lists...

"Built in Iwaki, Japan, and Decherd, TN, Nissan's VQ V-6 is fast approaching an annual volume of 4 million units for worldwide applications. Which raises the obvious but uncomfortable question: With V-6s this good, who really needs a V-8?"

Now, show me where you got the Mexico thing from..

Oh Ic but wiki can't be used as a reference because of their lack of accuracy or completeness of entries and some pages may be written by 8th graders lol but I agree Wardsautoworld is a good source
