Question about Exhaust?
So i was planning to get an exhaust, but there are alot of terms i dont know about exhaust yet
Like Resonated and Non-Resonate test pipe, Hi flow cat, and Cat back? i dont really understand it so it would be nice if you guys can explain it thanks
But when i look it up, it just says what kind of the exhaust it doesnt say all that ?
Ps: sorry im a noob

Most parts advertised as an "exhaust", "exhaust system", or "full exhaust", etc... is a cat-back exhaust which replaces the y-pipe, mid-pipe, and axle-back/muffler(s), with a few replacing only the axle-back.
Since most exhaust systems are 50 state legal because they only need to meet a db requirement, and being illegal to remove the stock cats in some states while headers need a CARB number in those same states, HFCs, test pipes, and headers are rarely advertised as exhaust systems.

It should say either cat-back or full exhaust. Just do a little bit of searching and you can figure most of it out for yourself. Youll be smarter and potentially make a better decision regarding your exhuast! Gl
This is the order if you want full boltons
Headers > Catalytic Converters> Y pipe (or X or H Pipe)> Mid Pipe> Muffler and tips
Test pipes and HFC just replace the catalytic converters. Resonated test pipes have a resonance camber that helps prevent rasp. Nonresonated are just straight pipes and they will be loud and raspy (dont get this it will sound bad). Test pipes are not street legal but add a good amt of power. HFC are high flow catalytic converters and are street legal. They won't add as much power as tp. Cat back is everything after the catalytic converters.

Are you really old enough to drive....seriously?
A cat-back exhaust is just that, duals from the converters back. Then you have the single like OE (factory) that goes from the y-pipe back. These are generally less expensive but offer very little for your $$. HFCs (high flow cats) have far less restriction than OE converters and aren't legal in all 50 states. Test pipes, these replace the converters which makes your G35 subject to impound/big $ fine if law enforcement notices them. Hope this helps a little, remember SEARCH is your best friend here on DRIVER!
Using English like you were taught in school and reading what you post will also help us understand your questions.
