G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

In a short six weeks, it will be time to turn in the leased Lexus SC430. With confidence, a 2005 G35 Coupe OR a 2005 350Z Roadster WILL be my next ride (both loaded of course). The decision is a tough one. I know the 350Z has serious tire feathering issues and it is not clear if the 2005 model will resolve it. If any of you can add to my decision making process, I would be appreciative. Particularly if you have first hand experience with both the G35 Coupe and the 350Z. Thanks!!

if loaded is your thing...

you may want to buy a beater to hold you over until 1/05...

when the 35th edit Grand touring 350Z roadster hits.

300+hp
brembos
leather int.

or be a real man and find a 93-95 928 gts.

or just get a g and be happy!

Hang on, your trading in a Lexus SC430 for a Z or G. And you want an opinion? I suggest you go and see a doctor and then realise what the heck you are talking about.

Re: G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

hey no shark dissin'

3500lbs and 346hp
0-60 5.4sec top speed = 177mph
who you callin chunky....chunky?

excellent handling featuring the active rear steering weissach axle.

the 928 was originally intended to replace the 911. but the purists bemoaned the car. A 928 will outhandle a Z/G handily.

I'm presently torn between a 93-95 928 gts + 95 NSX-T OR a 2005 997S.
2 great older supercars vs 1 brand new supercar....decision, decisions.

Re: G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

While I am fortunate to afford a Porsche, NSX and most other makes, I PREFER the looks of both the G35 Coupe and Z Roadster. My main concern is reliablity since I drive about 19k / year. The Z with it's tire feathering issues that have NOT been resolved is concerning and unless Nissan changed the suspension in 2005, it will be an ongoing issue. I wouldn't purchase any vehicle that has such serious flaws.

**Note to BritishBloke...I happen to be a doctor / physician.

The g also has tire feathering issues....just not as common as the Z. BTW, the Michelins only last a year then you gotta replace.

Re: G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

I was dead-set on purchasing the 350z Roadster ever since I first laid eyes on it in magazines. When one finally arrived, it was exactly what I wanted and I just couldn't pull the trigger. It had terrible leather, there was ZERO storage space in that thing (I could barely fit my briefcase in the trunk) and the interior just looked "cheaper" than the G's interior IMO.

Obviously pros and cons for both but when it came down to the added functionality of the 4 seater and the better looks of the G (subjective, I know) I only had one choice.

04, TB/W, Nav, Aero, 6MT, etc...

Re: G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

Get an M3 =) I would say of the two get the G35 coupe, i love the 350z but something was lacking, over mostly anything and why im waititng out my 2 more years on my lease instead of ending it early to hop in a g35 coupe, 350z or subaru sti i am waiting for what i really want and thats the M3, i LOVEEEE itttt so much! Anyway if your going for a porsche, one of the greatest or the greatest one IMO is the 97-99 i believe Porsche Turbo S''s, the real wide widebody porsches, sick car!!!!!!!!

Re: G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

porsche's are overpriced..and don't look like anything special....when i see a carrera coming toward me, it looks like a boxster from the front...big deal...so it has great performance...Big deal..so does the STI and Evo. Forget the 911. Go with an Aston Martin or M5 or SL55...you get the picture. Just my opinion though....Dont hate

Re: G35Coupe vs 350Z Roadster

that was the problem with the 996 - looked like a boxster inside and out (from the front).

I shared your opinion - until the 997 came out.

the 997 is a whole new ballgame. I'm trying to hold out for the aston V8 vantage (supposededly 100K). However, a 997S is 80k (with the options i want -90K).

have you seen the 997?
