Bad cold starts
Bad cold starts
All of a sudden, my VQ35DE began to act up on a cold start. Before that, it would start in a fraction of a second after several cranks by the starter. Now it takes over a second to start in the morning. For about 1-2 seconds immediately after the start, the engine does not run smoothly. It does not sound like it misfires but rather it is missing the ignition cycle in a cylinder.
It only happens in the morning during the cold start. It is usually about 90 degrees outside when it happens.
Should I bring it into the shop? I'm hesitant about that. If they cannot reproduce the problem easily, they may not want to look at it. None of the "bad" lights on the dash lit up. Engine is stock and it has always been this way.
What would you recommend?
