Security issues

In light of my upcoming modifications, (stereo) i feel that i need some extra security for my car. I am curious what you guys/gals think i can do to keep my toy safe!? I am interested in disconnecting the trunk switch inside the cab and only using the keyfab when need be. Which would be the safest way to do so, and what other plans of action are being used by fellow G owners.

Thanx all!

Re: Security issues

You can disable the trunk open button by flipping the switch in the glovebox. I keep my glovebox locked to make the switch less accessible.

Hope that helps.

Re: Security issues

redwillow, if you see this, how that working out, a shock sensor is definitely something i'm interested in adding

Re: Security issues

Could rewire so that interior button is only active with ignition on. This way if your key is in the ignition, you can open the trunk. If not you can only use key-fob.

Re: Security issues

The shock sensor mod is one of the best bang-for-your-buck mods out there.

Re: Security issues

i used redwillow's DIY and for $25-$30 bucks you can't beat it...i'll admit to being a novice with electronics/things under the hood, but with the write-up, installation was very easy to follow/understand...i would recommend it as a nice, cheap security upgrade...

thanks redwillow!
